Industria Papelera del Caribe Orders Thermo Black Clawson Deinking Equipment - MAC® Deinking Cell and DNT™ Washer to increase brightness of tissue

Industria Papelera del Caribe, Panama City, Panama has ordered a 5A96 MAC Deinking Cell and a Model 100 DNT Washer from Thermo Black Clawson Inc. to upgrade its tissue operation. The new equipment will complement other Thermo Black Clawson equipment already operating in the mill which include a Hydrapulper®, Scavenger® detrashing system, high density cleaners and two Mini-Pressure™ screens.

Industria Papelera del Caribe processes 20 BDMT/D using a furnish of MOW/ONP to produce tissue and paper towel products. The addition of the MAC Cell and the DNT washer is expected to increase brightness and improve appearance of the end product, while allowing the mill to lower furnish costs. Start-up of the new equipment is slated for July of 2001.
