Parkinson Supplying Winding And Web-Handling Equipment For DuPont Spunlace Project.

(Parkinson Technologies, Inc., Woonsocket, RI) Parkinson Technologies, a leader in the design and manufacturing of winders and web-handling equipment, has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract for equipment on the recently announced DuPont spunlace expansion.

The Parkinson equipment being supplied is part of the Mark IV product line. It will be fully automated for minimal operator involvement, and will include shaft and core handling systems. Parkinson is pleased to be part of DuPont's first expansion since 1992 for the Sontara line. "The nonwovens market may be soft as a whole, but our business has never been better," says Nonwovens Sales Manager Andrew Miller.

Parkinson has been serving the nonwovens market for over 30 years with innovative equipment to meet the needs of future development. Parkinson acquired the Marshall and Williams Plastics Division in the spring of 2000; they are a turnkey supplier of complete biaxial orientation lines for plastic film and nonwoven substrates. Parkinson is also affiliated with Key Filters, a manufacturer of filtration equipment for the plastics industry.
